Tehran Rejects Claims of Attack on Oman, Affirms Friendly Ties

(MENAFN) Iran on Tuesday rejected claims that it had launched a military strike on Oman, emphasizing that the Gulf nation is a “friend and neighbor.”

The country’s Armed Forces General Staff stated that no attack occurred on Omani territory, dismissing reports suggesting otherwise, as stated by reports.

This clarification followed an earlier report that two drones were intercepted in Oman’s Dhofar Governorate, while a third reportedly crashed near Salalah Port. According to a security source cited by reports, there were no casualties or damage to property from the incident.

Regional tensions have surged since the US and Israel carried out large-scale strikes on Iran on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of nearly 800 people, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Tehran has launched drone and missile attacks against Israel and Gulf states hosting US military assets.
